biography
Kevin Andrus was born and raised in Lava Hot Springs, where he developed a love for Idaho and its people. He pursued higher education locally, earning a BS in Agriculture Business from BYU-Idaho and an MBA from Idaho State University.
Throughout his schooling and after his undergraduate degree, he put his natural talent in horsemanship and cattle to work in Idaho, Colorado, Florida, Nevada, Utah and Arizona. His talent opened opportunities to work with people from all walks of life. Whether on dude ranches helping foreign tourists experience America, or at recovery ranches helping young adults overcome drug addictions, he’s learned to listen and see the world from different perspectives. While in school and after receiving his MBA, he has helped other Idahoans pursue their personal goals as a small business advisor and loan officer. Kevin currently works on the family ranch where he helps the operation raise cattle and horses. This has been the ultimate goal in his life and he is excited to raise his family in the same way that grew up.
His time as a page in the 2006 Idaho Legislature sparked his interest in public service. After volunteering in the legislature, his concern for the important issues facing Idaho never waned. His father, Representative Ken Andrus, would bring the debates he was having in the legislature home for his family to discuss. With deep roots in Idaho and a fresh perspective of where Idaho has been as a state and what opportunities await future generations, Kevin Andrus will effectively represent Idaho.
